Sigiriya - The Lion Rock

Sigiriya, or Lion Rock, is an ancient rock fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It's a massive, nearly 200-meter-high rock column with ruins of a 5th-century palace built by King Kasyapa. The climb involves ascending approximately 1200 steps. While it can be strenuous, especially in the heat, it's generally considered manageable for most people with a reasonable level of fitness. The climb to the top and back down typically takes between 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on your fitness level, how often you stop, and the crowd levels.
